JC Talbott
I’ve only been a member of one Christian group in my life, but my positive experiences through the Christian Students Club need no comparison for I’ve grown a ton as an individual both internally and interpersonally with help of the brothers and sisters here at Tech. Home meetings, Sunday worship, new faces, old faces, it don’t matter: literally every interaction I’ve had with our club has been a true blessing, and there have been many interactions. The best experiences are when I’m just going about my day in a, say, indifferent state of mind, and then meeting with the club makes me the happiest I’ve been all week. It’s not magic, it’s the Word of God and touching God with my spirit and alongside my friends.

Ire Adaramola
Finding GT christian students during my first week at Georgia tech was really a blessing for me. I immediately connected to someone who kept me updated with everything that was going on and helped me to become part of the club. My experience at GT Christian students has helped me to grow in my knowledge and understanding of the Lord. One of the things I have really enjoyed is the commitment to group fellowship because I have been able to learn from the members of my group and expand on my understanding of the bible through the meetings. Another thing I have enjoyed from the fellowship time is being able to develop real relationships with the people in my group. Whenever we meet we begin by talking about things that are going on in our lives and I feel that this helped me to really know the people I am fellowshipping with and made me feel more connected to them. My time with GT Christian students has generally
been an amazing experience! |
Evi Salguero
Hi everyone! My name is Evi Salguero, and I’m a senior studying computer science at Tech. I found out about the christian students club during my freshman year. When I came to college, I wanted to follow the Lord, love Him, and just be a regular Christian. It was really hard though. I was 100% focused on studying for classes, doing homework, and hanging out with people. I would try to read my Bible, but would just close it or flip through pages in frustration. It felt like I had one foot in the world and one foot in God’s house. After I did the summer internship with the club and was baptized, my christian life was a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable. I began reading the Bible every day and had a group of people who really helped me develop my faith more. Since then, it hasn’t always been easy but I am confident that I will live a life full of enjoyment and pursuit of Christ. “But what things were gains to me, these I have counted as loss on account of Christ” Philippians 3:7 Praise the Lord!

Dinushka Herath
Hi everyone! I met the the christian students club my first year at Tech. My name is Dinushka Herath, and I’m a dual degree Chemistry/Chemical Engineering transfer student from Clark Atlanta University. When I started at GT, I desired to finally get to know Jesus for myself. I had heard about Him a little growing up but I didn't know much except that I believed that Jesus is God and He died for my sins and therefore I was saved. John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Him whom You have sent, Jesus Christ. Joining the club helped me to read the Bible and truly get to know the One whom I am growing to love, Jesus. I have the full assurance that my God will bring me into the fullest enjoyment and gaining of Christ. Praise the Lord! Through the club, I have found a family away from home with whom I can "flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those" (2 Tim. 2:22) and who even practice to "call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place" (1 Cor. 1:2). My journey with Christ during my college years has been much easier and more enjoyable doing it together "with those".
